What ꛟ means
It represents the Bamum syllable ko.
Bamum is a language spoken mainly in western Cameroon. In its writing, ꛟ contributes one syllable, transcribed in Latin letters as ko: a k sound followed by o. Alone, it is a writing sample, not a standard reaction. If someone sends it by itself, ask which Bamum word they mean. A Bamum keyboard or virtual keyboard is needed; typing Latin ko gives only the transcription.
What is the Bamum script history?
Bamum writing developed from memory signs into a syllabary.
King Ibrahim Njoya and his advisers developed the script from 1896 to 1910. Its first form, Lerewa, used signs for objects and actions as a memory aid rather than a full way to write speech; a surviving manuscript is dated 1897. Successive revisions reused signs for their sounds and simplified the system into A-ka-u-ku, the modern syllabary. ꛟ belongs to this modern form.
It reads as intentional Bamum writing or script study; alone, ꛟ has no standard chat-reaction meaning.
An isolated ꛟ may be unreadable to someone who does not know Bamum.
