Block Octant-237

310/686

𜴻 is a block octant: a 24 pixel tile with cells 2, 3 and 7 lit. Adjacent octants make larger drawings; this is one piece of Kaypro text graphics, not a complete picture.

What 𜴻 means

It is one tile for a larger Kaypro screen drawing.

Kaypro machines ran CP/M, an early operating system; graphics mode used each text cell as a 24 set of eight pixels. A 1983 Kaypro 10 guide documents the method, and Unicode’s compatibility chart maps this pattern to Kaypro reverse-video entry F6 (reverse video swaps light and dark).

Other legacy text mosaics divide a character cell into four quadrants or six sextants; an octant divides it into eight cells.

Why does this symbol show as an empty box?

Your font may lack its glyph. Cascadia Code 2404.03 added all 256 octant patterns on April 30, 2024; display depends on a font with octant support.
