Block Sextant-13

🬄 is a small mosaic tile for low-resolution graphics on character-based screens. Teletext and home computers used sets of such tiles to draw pictures one character at a time.

What 🬄 means

It lights cells 1 and 3 in a six-cell tile.

British teletext—text pages delivered with TV broadcasts—used two-column, three-row mosaic blocks for small graphics from the early 1970s. France's Minitel information service used similar blocks from the early 1980s until 2012; the Mattel Aquarius computer's character set includes this exact pattern. Neighboring tiles combine into larger low-resolution pictures.

Why does 🬄 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
