What 壮 means
A preserved form of 壮.
CNS 11643, Taiwan’s Chinese-text exchange standard, lists code 6-2433 in plane six. Unicode included it for conversion to and from the 1992 CNS set.
Traditional 壯 appears in China’s Warring States era meaning “strong”; bronze inscriptions also use it for someone in their prime. Later Mandarin uses extend to “bold” and “expand.” 壯 is traditional for 壮.
Why does 壮 change?
Normalization can reduce it to 壮.
Text normalization makes equivalent strings consistent. Unicode maps this form to 壮; standardized sequence 壮︀ adds invisible selector UFE00 to request its glyph in supported fonts.

Questions people ask
1Why does 壮 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
