What 𡛪 means
It is a variant encoding of 𡛪. Unicode 15.1’s Taiwan-source chart shows the linked glyph as 妳. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education dictionary records 妳 for addressing women and cites Song and Yuan texts for an older “mother” sense.
Why does 𡛪 normalize to 𡛪?
It preserves a source-standard glyph distinction. Unicode keeps compatibility forms for round-trip exchange with older character standards; TF-2A2B identifies Taiwan CNS 11643’s 15th plane. Normalization maps 𡛪 to 𡛪; the standardized sequence 𡛪︀ (U216EA UFE00) preserves its glyph distinction.
The Taiwan-source form 妳 is gender-marked for women.
For a male addressee, it can misgender him.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𡛪 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
