What 㛮 means
It corresponds to 㛮, a variant of 嫂.
Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary, glosses 㛮 as an older brother’s wife. A Tang dynasty poem uses 嫂 more broadly for a married woman. Later dictionaries preserve 㛮 as a variant; 嫂 is the familiar written form.
Why does 㛮 become 㛮?
It preserves a two-way mapping with a Taiwan character set.
Unicode lists 㛮 as CNS 11643-1992 entry T6-4761, from Taiwan’s sixth character plane. Supplementary CJK compatibility ideographs preserve these entries when text converts between CNS and Unicode.
Canonical Unicode normalization maps 㛮 to 㛮. The reading stays, but its separate code point does not.

Questions people ask
1Why does 㛮 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
