What 㡢 means
It is a separately encoded form of 㡢, a variant of 幔.
The Han-era dictionary Shuowen Jiezi (compiled around 100 CE) glosses 幔 as 幕, a screen or covering. The Kangxi Dictionary (1716) cites the earlier Zhengzitong dictionary for calling 㡢 a colloquial form of 幔. Taiwan's CNS 11643 entry (2024) gives the Mandarin reading màn.
Will normalization preserve 㡢?
No; Unicode maps it to 㡢.
Unicode keeps this form for round-trip conversion with Taiwan's CNS 11643 character standard. Normalization may collapse it to 㡢, so reserve 㡢 for source data that needs the distinct form.

Questions people ask
1Why does 㡢 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

㡢\2F888Why is 㡢 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
