What 形 means
Its meaning is the same as 形: “form” or “shape.” The Taiwan index gives the Mandarin reading xíng.
It is not another everyday word: its separate code marks a source-specific character entry.
Why does 形 have its own Unicode code?
Taiwan's CNS 11643 lists it as plane-3 code 3-2C51; North Korea's KPS 10721-2000 lists KP1-41F8. KPS is a supplementary Hanja set: Chinese characters used in Korean.
These older character-code entries can round-trip through Unicode without losing the original source code.

1Why does 形 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
