What 瀞 means
To preserve a Taiwan standard’s source entry through conversion.
CNS 11643 assigns it code 4-565D. Unicode maps this form to 瀞 ; UFE01 requests the source glyph. The separate code lets text round-trip without losing the entry.
The Shigu (“Stone Drum”) text says 吾水既瀞 (“my water is clean”); the early dictionary Shuowen glosses 瀞 as “without dirt.”
Compatibility cleanup (NFKC/NFKD) folds it into 瀞; canonical normalization (NFC/NFD) preserves it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 瀞 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

瀞\2F914Why is 瀞 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
