What 䁆 means
It is a source-specific form of 䁆, not an everyday spelling. The code point preserves a character entry from Taiwan’s CNS 11643-1992 standard when text is converted to Unicode and back.
Yu Pian, a Chinese character dictionary compiled around 543, glosses 䁆 as “eye”; Guangyun, a Chinese rhyme dictionary compiled in 1008, records “close the eyes.”
Why does 䁆 turn into 䁆?
Unicode normalization maps 䁆 to 䁆. It standardizes equivalent text, so this separate code point is not retained.
U+FE00, an invisible variation selector, forms a standardized variant sequence after 䁆; the font must support it to show that glyph.

Questions people ask
1Why does 䁆 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
