What 䐋 means
It preserves a Chinese character with the historical gloss “disease.”
CNS 11643-1992 assigns this source form the code T5-3B50. The Kangxi Dictionary, a Qing-era Chinese character dictionary published in 1716, distinguishes similar-looking forms: 月 (“moon”) is glossed “red,” while 肉 (“flesh”) is glossed “disease.” This character preserves the latter source mapping when text is converted to Unicode and back.
Text normalization, which standardizes equivalent strings, maps 䐋 to 䐋 in all four Unicode forms: NFC, NFD, NFKC and NFKD. This loses U2F984’s separate identity. The standardized sequence 䐋︀ (U440B UFE00) requests the corresponding glyph variant where supported, but not the original code point.

Questions people ask
1Why does 䐋 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
