What 雃 means
An old bird term and a personal name. The Eastern Han dictionary 說文解字 (completed around 100 CE) records 雃 as a bird and cites 士雃 in a Spring and Autumn chronicle. Taiwan’s CNS page gives Mandarin qiān (ㄑㄧㄢ).
Taiwan’s CNS 11643 assigns this form its own slot, 6-636E. Unicode preserves that source distinction for round-trip conversion and maps it to 雃.
