What 陼 means
It is a compatibility form of the Han character 类.
This code point was kept for a round trip: text could move from that character set into Unicode and back without losing the source distinction.
Why does 陼 become 类?
Unicode normalization can map FAC6 to 类.
Unicode pairs UFAC6 with the ordinary Han character U7C7B 类, so normalization may erase which code point the original text used.
Unicode also defines the standardized variation sequence 类︀ (类 followed by the variation selector UFE00) to request the associated glyph form. Supporting software can display that variant; the sequence does not restore UFAC6 itself.
How do I type FAC6?
In code or JSON, enter \uFAC6.
That escape enters this character when the string is parsed, but later normalization may still change it to 类. For ordinary writing, use 类; keep FAC6 when a source record or conversion requires that exact code point.

Questions people ask
1Why does 陼 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

A visible symbol can contain several code points. JS .length counts UTF-16 units; UTF-8 counts bytes.
