What ⻎ means
It labels the walk or movement component in character references.
⻎ is radical notation for looking up and analyzing a component, not a word to read aloud. Its older source, 辵, combines 彳 (a path or step element) and 止 (foot or stopping). Oracle-bone inscriptions—writing carved on bone or shell for divination—already show this movement element in characters such as 巡.

Questions people ask
1Why does ⻎ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
