What 𢫭 means
Its meaning depends on the text or language.
The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese character dictionary, links 𢫭 to 揚 (“rise or lift”). A seal-script chart (an old Chinese writing style) also maps it to 拈 (“pinch”). The Kangxi Dictionary records 摍𢫭 (“not to stretch”) and questions that reading.
A legal text from Qin, an early Chinese empire, on bamboo slips (writing strips) has a disputed shape transcribed as 𢫭: 投 (“throw”), or a scribe's error for 牧 (“herd”), read as 謀 (“plot”). In a 2024 Taiwanese Hokkien card, 𢫭 means “take, grab, catch,” read ng or um.
