What 𢫮 means
It means “pull tight,” as 揯 does. The Shuowen Jiezi explains 揯 with the hand component and a sound hint. Its quotation from the Huainanzi, a Chinese philosophical text, uses 搄 in the string example. Mandarin pinyin, the romanization, gives gèng or gēng.
The Ministry of Education classifies 𢫮 as a later shortened form of 揯. The Ming character dictionary Zihui (1615) and Zhengzitong (1671) both list it as “same as 揯.”
