What 𣿳 means
It preserves an older written shape.
The Shuowen, an early Chinese character dictionary compiled around 100 CE, defines 𣿳 as rainwater: water is on the left, and 𤊽 supplies the sound. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education dictionary traces a later lower-right change from 火 to 小.
What did earlier forms of 潦 name?
A place and, in bronze records, a state.
Oracle-bone inscriptions—carved on bones for divination around 1200 BCE—and bronze inscriptions use 潦 as a place name; bronze examples also use it for a state. These records predate the Shuowen’s rainwater definition.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𣿳 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
