What 𨋻 means
It is a rare form of 喫, “to eat or drink.” The Longkan Shoujian, a character dictionary for Buddhist readers, records this link in 997. The Kangxi Dictionary (1716) cites the Wuyin Pianhai, another character dictionary, as linking it to 吃.
The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary compiled around 100 CE, defines 吃 as stammering or difficulty speaking. The eating sense has a separate history through 喫; the two forms later overlapped.
