What 𨋼 means
In Word 2024, type 282FC and press Alt+X.
Cangjie is a shape-based Chinese input method: its listed letter code for this form is JJOYJ, if your installed input method includes the glyph.
What does 𨋼 mean?
It is a written variant of 斡, meaning “turn” or “rotate.”
For Mandarin, 𨋼 is read wò (fourth tone); 斡’s separate guǎn (“manage”) reading does not apply to this variant. The Buddhist character dictionary Longkan Shoujian records 𨋼 as 斡 in 997. Han-era Shuowen defines 斡 as the handle of a dipper made from a gourd; its movement under your hand explains the later “turn” sense and the related idea of a pivot that steers movement.
Why does 𨋼 show as a box?
Your active font may lack this character’s glyph.
𨋼 belongs to CJK Extension B, a supplementary block, so the active font needs coverage for that range. Microsoft’s Windows 7 font guide lists SimSun-ExtB and MingLiU-ExtB. If the glyph appears as a box, switch to an installed font that supports Extension B.

1Why does 𨋼 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
