What 𨻳 means
Use its context: a place name or a water barrier. One county list in the Chinese history book Book of the Later Han links 𨻳陵 to 鄢, a place name from the Spring and Autumn period; an earlier geographical record from the Former Han, the Book of Han, writes the county as 傿陵. Another passage says soldiers set up a false weir to look as if they were fishing, then cross the river below it. This is the yàn use, equivalent to 堰.

1Why does 𨻳 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
