What 𪃧 means
It is a variant of 𪃐 used for an old bird name.
The Han-era Shuowen Jiezi records 𪃐: 鳥 marks “bird,” while 眇 supplies the Mandarin sound miǎo. The later variant 𪃧 is listed in the Ming-era 篇海類編.
Commentary on the Book of Songs glosses 桃蟲 (“peach insect”) as a small bird; other notes link it to 鷦鷯 (“wren”) or to a young bird that grows larger. 巧婦 (“clever wife”) is another old bird name.
