Wang Yanshou’s long, descriptive poem Rhapsody on Lu Lingguang Hall comes from the Eastern Han. It describes the palace built for Prince Gong of Lu and figures carved on its roof beams; a later note by Li Shan, a scholar of the Tang dynasty, explains the phrase.
