What 𪊖 means
It descends from older picture-like tiger forms.
Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary, lists 𪊖 as an ancient form of 虎. Older tiger shapes appear on turtle shells and animal bones used for divination, and on bronze vessels. They show the tiger’s open mouth, marked body, and long tail. The left side comes from an older tiger form; the right may suggest its stripes. A box display means the font lacks a glyph for 𪊖.

1Why does 𪊖 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
