What 𪌡 means
It names the grain ferment used before a drink is brewed.
An early regional word list attributed to Han-era writer Yang Xiong records 𪌡䴹 as wheat brewing starter in Qi and around the Yellow and Ji rivers. Shuowen Jiezi, a Chinese character dictionary compiled around 100 CE, glosses 䴳 as a wheat cake and analyzes 麥 as the grain element and 穴 as a sound element. The cake and starter descriptions fit: this ferment was pressed into cakes.
