What 𫏽 means
Chữ Nôm adapted Chinese character forms to write Vietnamese. A scholarly timeline divides the script’s history into stages, beginning with Proto-Nôm (8th–9th centuries), followed by Archaic Nôm (10th–12th centuries) and later forms. The Latin-script word trong also means “clear” or “pure,” but Hán-Nôm references assign those senses to other characters. 中 is another documented character for spatial trong; that shared use does not make it a variant or descendant of 𫏽.

1Why does 𫏽 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
