What 𫒠 means
The word links door hardware, a timber joint and a human bond.
Japanese character references list 𫒠 as a character coined in Japan and corresponding to 鎹, read kasugai. A Japanese national dictionary cites the word for a door fastening in a lyric from the 7th–8th century; a 1462 text uses it for a large U-shaped nail joining timber. An 1891 novel uses it figuratively for a child who keeps a couple together. That image appears in 子は鎹 (ko wa kasugai), a Japanese saying that casts a child as the fastener between parents.

1Why does 𫒠 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
