What 𫓥 means
To work or refine metal.
The Yupian, a Chinese character dictionary compiled around 543 CE, gives this gloss for the older form 釟. The Guangyun, a later dictionary that groups characters by sound (1008 CE), repeats it.
𫓥 is a derived simplified form of 釟: its left side uses 钅, the shortened metal component in simplified Chinese, while 釟 uses the traditional 釒 form.
