What 𫗪 means
Its food-related meanings split across two modern forms.
Shuowen, an early Chinese dictionary, records 餧 with a hunger gloss and a fish-spoilage sense; other old references also record feeding. Its parts are 食, the food element, and 委, which signals its sound.
Later references distinguish 餧 for feeding from 餒 for hunger. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education lists 餵 (wèi) for feeding people or animals in its 2021 edition.

1Why does 𫗪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
