What 𭮼 means
𭮼 is recorded as a variant of 毄. The Han-era Shuowen Jiezi dictionary glosses 毄 as things striking, like carts. It explains the older character as 殳, a striking weapon, paired with 軎, the cap at a cart axle's end.
The Rites of Zhou, a text on court ritual and crafts, uses 毄 for a weapon and for brushing a bow. A note to the dictionary also records a borrowed sense meaning “tie” or “fasten.”
Why does 𭮼 show as a box?
A font must include this glyph to display it.
This character is in CJK Unified Ideographs Extension F. A blank or replacement box means the active font may lack it; the BabelStone Han font includes glyphs from the block.
