Sleep-related character

6097/7473

𮚀 is linked to 眠, the Chinese character for sleep. Old verse and prose preserve this form in passages where the surrounding words point to sleeping. If it appears as a box, the font or text app may lack a usable glyph.

What 𮚀 means

It is an alternate written form associated with 眠, “sleep.” Historical Chinese excerpts use it in phrases that fit sleeping, including “江楓漁火對愁𮚀” and “强把杯尊醉欲𮚀.”

An anthology printed during the Ming period preserves it in the first verse; later Chinese texts use it in the same sleep-related sense. The left component is 貝, whereas 眠 has 目, so the two forms are related but visually distinct.
