What 𮯖 means
Its parts alone do not supply a dependable reading.
The Liao-period Chinese dictionary 龍龕手鑑, a book for looking up characters, files it under the tooth radical. A radical is the indexing component in a character dictionary: 齒 is on the left, while 菁 is on the right. Those pieces identify the written form but do not establish how it was read in a particular passage.
A Japanese digital catalogue of the Taishō Buddhist canon, a collection of Buddhist scriptures, also lists this exact form in its character inventory. Unicode encoded the glyph in 2017 and linked it to that catalogue; the date marks its computer-era record, not the character’s origin.
