It marks an extended pitch sign in Lülü notation for the se.
Lülü is an old Chinese pitch system with twelve named pitches; the se is a many-stringed zither. A book printed during China's Ming dynasty (1573–1619), 《頖宮禮樂疏》, shows the graph paired with 林鐘 and 太簇. The source links such expanded signs to the 撮 fingering on the guqin, another Chinese zither. Korean Yulja notation also developed from Lülü, but this graph's documented score use is in the Chinese tradition.
Why is 𮲬 in a Chinese ID-system character set?
Its source is China's Ministry of Public Security ID system.
In 2023, this source appeared in Unicode's Extension I proposal. The wider block was fast-tracked because characters in a draft amendment to GB 18030—China's mandatory text-encoding standard—were judged urgently needed in China. This dates its computer encoding, not its earlier use in music.
