𰨸

cjk unified ideograph-30a38

稘

𰨸 is a rare form of 稘, an old Chinese word for a time cycle, especially a year. An early dictionary, Shuowen Jiezi (compiled around 100 CE), glosses 稘 as “returning at its time.” It cites the Book of Documents on the calendar; the surviving text uses 期 and counts 366 days. Dictionaries also give 稘 the senses “grain stalk” and “bean stalk”; the latter is shared with 萁.
