What 𰳗 means
One early written appearance is in Zhang Heng’s Eastern Han poem. His Nandu Fu (“Rhapsody on the Southern Capital”), a long poem about the southern capital, lists 蠳龜 among the region’s water creatures. A Chinese encyclopedia compiled in 1700–1725 identifies it as 攝龜, a small turtle said to eat snakes, and says people in the south carried its tail to ward off snakes.

1Why does 𰳗 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
