What 𰺕 means

The old record links a carriage word with a turning phrase.

The older form is 𨍏. The 1008 Guangyun (“Expanded Rhymes”), a Chinese rhyme dictionary that groups characters by pronunciation, glosses 𨍏 with 輅, an old carriage term. The 1039 Jiyun (“Collected Rhymes”) gives 𨍏輅 the sense “to turn”; the 1716 Kangxi Dictionary later quotes both entries.

Questions people ask

1

Why does 𰺕 show as a box on some devices?

It is recent: Unicode added it in version 13.0 (2020), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
