What 䵄 means
It names wheat prepared by cooking or roasting. The earliest evidence for 䵄 appears in the Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese character dictionary compiled around 100 CE and presented to the Han court in 121 CE. It glosses the character as “煑麥也,” meaning cooked wheat. A food list in the Zhouli, a classical text on court and ritual offices, includes it among morning offerings.
A historical dialect note in New Dialects (新方言) records a Jiangnan preparation: glutinous rice was steamed, sun-dried, then roasted and called 米䵄. It says the same term was used in Wuchang. This is a historical regional food name.
Some later lexicons also give 䵄 a rush-grass sense.
Is 䵄 a modern chat symbol?
No established everyday chat reading is documented as of 2026. If someone sends it, treat it as a reference to the written character or a term from a particular source; ask for context before assigning it a tone.
Archaic, lexical, and reference-oriented; a message gives little context for its historical senses.
Don't assign it a reaction or mood without context.
