What 享 means
In modern Chinese, 享 means receiving or enjoying something. In 享受 the focus is enjoying a benefit; in 享有 it is holding a right or benefit.
The older form 亯 appears in oracle-bone inscriptions—writing on animal bones used for divination—and bronze inscriptions. Early uses concern ritual offerings to spirits, ancestors, or rulers; later senses include receiving and enjoying benefits. What the oldest form pictures is disputed: a shrine-like building or a vessel.

1Why does 享 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
