What 寯 means
It can mean “gathering” or “a person with exceptional talent.”
The earliest dictionary record for 寯 is in the 玉篇 tradition, an early Chinese character dictionary. The original preface, from China's Liang dynasty, is dated to 543 CE. The surviving text was revised later, with additions from the Tang and Song periods, so it gives a dictionary attestation rather than a secure date for the character's first appearance.
The dictionaries differ in emphasis. 玉篇 describes a talented person; 廣韻 calls it “the most talented among people”; 博雅 and the later commentary 廣雅疏證 gloss it as “to gather.” Korean references also record 준 as its Hanja reading—the Korean reading assigned to a Chinese-origin character.
How do you type 寯?
Enter jun in a Chinese Pinyin input method, then select 寯.
Pinyin input returns many characters for jun, so the candidate list may bury this rare one. On macOS Tahoe 26, enable “show simplified and rare characters” in the Chinese input source if the list omits 寯.
Other routes include stroke input, handwriting recognition, Cangjie, or hexadecimal input. Taiwan's CNS11643 record includes 寯 in the default 細明體 and 標楷體 fonts on Windows 10; regional CJK fonts may draw its strokes differently, and missing font coverage can leave it blank.
Literary and lexicographic; exact spelling matters in names and quotations.
A one-character message gives too little context to tell whether 寯 is a name, quotation, or word.
