What 诎 means
It means to bend, yield, or falter in speech.
In classical use it stretches from folded cloth and crouching bodies to blocked speech and exhaustion. 诎寸伸尺 turns it into strategy: bend a little now to extend further later.
The recognizable form goes back to Warring States bronze and Chu manuscripts, and early dictionaries analyze traditional 詘 with a speech element, with 誳 as a variant. Later texts often write the same idea as 屈; 诎 is the simplified writing of 詘.
Literary and marked: use it for classical quotes, not everyday chat.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 诎 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
