What 趩 means
It describes the sound or manner of walking.
Older Chinese dictionaries also gloss 趩 as looking as if one does not move. In the traditional analysis, 走 supplies the movement element, while 異 is the sound element.
How old is 趩 in writing?
An early bronze inscription already uses the character twice.
The ritual bronze vessel 王子午鼎 carries 趩趩 in ceremonial wording; the vessel dates to 558–552 BCE. Another example comes from the Stone Drum Inscriptions (石鼓文), texts carved on drum-shaped stones: a hunting line, 其来趩趩, describes an approach with a marked gait.
Together, these examples show 趩趩 used inside descriptive phrases in old Chinese writing.
Why is 趩 in 趩仔麵?
It is a local character choice in a Lukang noodle-shop name.
A 2021 report from Lukang, a town in Taiwan, records a calligrapher's choice of 趩 for a noodle-shop name. The owner links the character's movement sense and its match for the local noodle name to a ladle bobbing in boiling water.
That explanation belongs to this local food name; it does not make 趩 an everyday message reaction.
Classical and literary in tone.

1Does a single 趩 tell me what a message means?
No. Its old dictionary senses describe walking or a still appearance, but a bare send does not show why it was chosen. Ask for the surrounding sentence or source.
