Use 腿 for the usual word.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Education variant entry cites 正字通, an older Chinese dictionary, as describing 蹆 as a colloquial form of 腿. The 1716 Kangxi Dictionary also equates it with 腿.
One Cantonese character record gives 蹆 the regional sense “move in a straight line,” separate from its use as a variant of 腿.
A documented variant spelling, described as colloquial in an older dictionary; use 腿 for the usual modern Chinese word.
The 退 component on the right does not mean “retreat” here.
