What 鍟 means
It names rust on iron.
A 2024 variant dictionary says 鉎 is absent from 說文, an early Chinese dictionary, but lists it in three others: 玉篇, 廣韻 and 集韻. Its older gloss 鐵衣 means “iron covering.”
Someone sent me 鍟—what does it mean?
Treat it as rust; a lone message needs context.
A 1996 Cantonese dictionary gives 刀生鍟 for a rusting knife and 鍟 for rust smell. Its entries preserve different readings.
Historical and dialectal; hard to read without dictionary or Cantonese context.
