What 骨 means
Bone is literal; compounds can extend it to structure or character.
Chinese 骨头 means a physical bone; 骨气 means integrity or moral backbone. Japanese uses also include a central point and mettle. Its ancestor appears in oracle-bone writing, an ancient Chinese divination script, around 1250–1000 BCE. The graph later changed through inscriptions on bronze objects and two writing styles called seal and clerical script.
Why does 骨 look different in fonts?
Regional fonts can draw its inner strokes differently.
Chinese, Japanese, and Korean font standards may change those details without changing the character. A visual difference alone does not mean you selected another character.

3Questions people ask
1Why does 骨 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
