What ⷮ means
It adds a raised te to an abbreviated word.
Church Slavonic scribes shortened recurring words, including sacred names. A small letter above the letters that remained could show part of what had been left out. These raised letters are part of titlo notation: ⷮ contributes the letter te, but does not make a word or sound by itself.
The written tradition behind these abbreviations reaches back to the ninth century. Surviving Old Church Slavonic manuscripts include examples from the late tenth and eleventh centuries. Later Church Slavonic printing standardized some manuscript forms.
Why is ⷮ above a letter?
It follows a base letter and is drawn above it.
In the text sequence, ⷮ comes after the letter it belongs to; a supporting font positions it above that letter. Historical fonts may draw it differently. Paired raised letters can appear side by side, joined, or stacked without changing which letters the text encodes.
The plain titlo ҃ marks an abbreviation. ⷮ supplies a raised letter within one.
How do I type ⷮ?
Enter a base letter first, then ⷮ.
Use a Unicode-aware input method to place the combining mark after its base. A font designed for historical Cyrillic text is more likely to position it above the letter. If it floats away, check the font and mark placement.
This is specialist historical and Church Slavonic text setting.
A bare ⷮ is incomplete: it needs a preceding base letter.

Why does ⷮ change shape in different fonts?
Fonts draw and position it differently. Historical Cyrillic fonts may also join or stack paired raised letters.
