What т means
т is Cyrillic. If you are writing a Cyrillic word, Latin t or T inserts a different character, even where the shapes look alike.
The letter descends from Greek tau, a letter for the t sound. Early Cyrillic appears in 10th-century Old Church Slavonic manuscripts: handwritten Christian texts in an early Slavic literary language. There the letter was named tverdo, meaning “firmly”.
