What ᷿ means
It marks a pronunciation detail on the preceding letter. The Uralic Phonetic Alphabet (UPA) is a way to write Uralic-language pronunciation. A 1995 publication shows ᷿ in a Komi example.
Eemil Nestor Setälä published the UPA in 1901, building on earlier Uralic transcription practice. The 2022 handbook The Oxford Guide to the Uralic Languages uses the International Phonetic Alphabet for many modern descriptions but keeps traditional Finno-Ugric transcription (FUT) for reconstructed forms (inferred from related languages). Put ᷿ after its base letter; if it floats, check the sequence or font positioning.

Questions people ask
1Why does ᷿ show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Combining Diacritical Marks Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
