What ૪ means
It means the number four. In Gujarati writing, ૪ is the numeral used for that quantity.
An early Indian writing system called Brahmi had numerals including an ancestor of four, seen in inscriptions around the 3rd century BCE. Indian numerals later developed through Gupta and Nagari forms; Gujarati script was adapted from writing related to Devanagari, another Indian script.
Gujarati-language notes appear in account books and cross-cultural contracts, recording prices, debts, interest, and balances. The earliest known Gujarati-script manuscript dates to 1592; an advertisement from 1797 shows Gujarati in print, and the script remained in use for letters and accounts into the 19th century.
