What 찿 means

Alone it has no dictionary meaning. The block reads as cha closed by ch, so only surrounding Korean words give it sense; Unicode generates it systematically rather than as a special symbol.

Hangul was first recorded in 1443 and explained in Hunminjeongeum in 1446 as a deliberately invented alphabet for Korean, replacing awkward Chinese-character workarounds. It became the official national script in 1894, and modern encoding later generated every structural combination; no separate early use of 찿 itself was found as of 2026.

Alone, it looks like a spelling test, not a message.

Why does 찿 break into jamo when I copy it?

It can. Some normalizations store the same syllable as three jamo, so search and counts may treat the forms differently.
