What 덚 means
A Hangul syllable block, not a word on its own.
Its Hangul syllable parts are ᄃ ᅥ ᆭ; ㄷ ㅓ ㄶ shows them outside a block. “Deonh” labels the sequence.
Why was Hangul created?
Hangul was designed for Korean speech.
Hangul let Korean be written more directly than with Chinese characters. The system is recorded from 1443; Hunminjeongeum, a guide to the script, explained it in 1446. Jamo, or letter elements, join into blocks; 덚 is one.
