What 듟 means
Its meaning comes from the Korean word it appears in. The Hangul syllable combines initial ㄷ, vowel ㅡ, and final consonant cluster ㄳ. The romanized label “deugs” names that component sequence; it is not an English translation.
The earliest documented guide to Hangul, the 1446 instruction book Hunminjeongeum, introduced a script designed for Korean speech. Chinese characters had been adapted to write Korean before it. Hangul arranges consonants and vowels into syllable blocks, sometimes with a final consonant, as in 듟. Its Unicode date, 1996, records digital encoding rather than the script’s origin.
How to type 듟
Use a Korean input method editor (IME). Enter ㄷ, ㅡ, ㄱ, then ㅅ; an IME that supports final consonant clusters combines the last two as ㄳ.
In source code, write \uB4DF if your programming language supports Unicode escapes. Fonts or apps may shape the block differently or show a fallback glyph when coverage is missing; the character remains 듟.
Neutral as a Korean syllable; conspicuous alone because a bare block does not explain why it was sent.
A lone 듟 is not a reliable stand-in for a reaction; ask what word it belongs to.
